Vitamin K plays a very important role in the human body because it is responsible for the entire organism.
It is significantly involved in the condition of teeth, bones, heart and blood vessels. It is also essential for regulating blood coagulation, because it ensures that the calcium circulating in the bloodstream.
It does not adhere to the inner walls of the blood vessels, thereby increasing the risk of thrombosis.
In addition, vitamin K2-MK7 draws the excess calcium from the blood, so that this cannot be deposited as a coating on the arteries.
By the way, due to this property scientists assume that calcifications in the arteries can be partially reversed! The side effect of this is that this calcium can be used in a positive way elsewhere in the body, such as to strengthen the tooth structure and the skeleton.
Adequate vitamin K2-MK7 intake is also strongly recommended for osteoporosis prophylaxis.
There are several categories of vitamin K, which also have sub-categories:
Vitamin K1 (phylloquinone) is mainly present in the leaves of green plants (e.g. lettuce) and the bioavailability is not optimal.
The best-known forms of vitamin K2 (menaquinone) are MK-4 and MK-7. They differed in their biological half-life: MK-4 is excreted from the body after only a few hours, whereas MK-7 remains in the organism for about three days!
Since the full health benefits of vitamin K can only be achieved through an intake of vitamin K2, we at Vitaalia have decided on the best available form: K2 MK-7.
The “European Commission” speaks about the following assessed health benefits:
- contributes to normal blood clotting
- contributes to the maintenance of normal bones
