Ginseng is one of the main representatives of traditional Chinese medicine and presents a wide range of pharmacological actions. Ginsenosides are the main class of active compounds found in ginseng. They demonstrate unique biological activity and medicinal value, namely anti-tumour, anti‑inflammatory and antioxidant properties.

In the Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Panax Ginseng is used to strengthen the “Original Qi” (it is the vital energy which we get at birth). Besides that, the effects are: invigorating Qi, treating collapse, reinforcing the spleen, nourishing the lung, promoting the production of the body fluid, quenching thirst, tranquilizing the mind and improving intelligence.

And also in the “Western medicine” Panax Ginseng is becoming more and more common, which we can even read at Wikipedia.de:

Ginseng is a natural adaptogen, which is a holistic medical term for biologically active plant substances that can help the organism to increase physical and mental resistance. The body or rather the immune system should be adapted to stressfully situations.
