Calcium is the most prevalent mineral in the human body. It is essential, meaning the body cannot synthesize it, and it is vital for several functions within the body.

99 % of the calcium in our bodies is found in our bones and teeth and is responsible for maintaining bone and teeth strength and growing new bone. That other 1 %, however, plays a crucial role in some essential bodily functions. It contributes to normal blood clotting, muscle functions, neurotransmission and function of digestive enzymes, as well as it plays an important role in the process of cell division.
